If it can move, it can race. So why not race beds?
The race originated as a competition among hotels, but over the years, it’s migrated to many different organizations from parks and rec departments to engineering schools, and local businesses.
There are two phases to the event: the decorative/festive competition and the actual timed races. The timed races are divided in to a competitive division and a fun division.

For the decorative/festive competition, each team will decorate their bed and wear costumes to try and best represent the event’s theme. This year, the theme was the 80s, but with a Pink twist, since the overall festival theme is Pink. In addition, there are winners for the best tailgate party, and more. There is an unofficial award that is the fan favorite, which is the “Cone Eater Award”.
