The alarm went off too early this morning. We had to depart at 5:00am to hit my home town of Stanford, Kentucky for a lunch meetup with my sisters that I’ve not seen in a couple of years. Our goal was to roll into my homestead around 1pm.
The trip was going really well. The Prius handled the mountains quite well, as packed as it was… until we hit a construction zone on I-75 north of Knoxville. That 5 mile stretch of sub-5 mph speeds pushed us an hour later.
We cruised safely into Louisville at 6:00. After a brief visit with family, it was time for dinner. Tonight’s plan was clear: Skyline Chili. From there it was on to the Balloon Glow…..
